Millions of people across the UK and beyond will this weekend be celebrating the coronation of King Charles III
It is being held at Westminster Abbey on the 6th May and the King, who will be crowned along with Camilla, the Queen Consort, will be the 40th reigning monarch crowned there since 1066.
The day of splendor and formality will feature customs dating back more than 1,000 years.
This will be the first coronation since that of the late Queen Elizabeth II in June 1953. The late Queen was the longest reigning monarch, with over 70 years of service and 7 jubilee celebrations. It was at the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Cosford that Ridgway Rentals had a part to play. Ridgway Rentals Union Jack painted Scania, was employed to pull a float decorated with scenes off climbing Everest (this was first climbed the same year Queen Elizabeth was crowned). As you can see her majesty was thrilled to see the display
Sadly or Union Jack painted lorry, known lovingly as ‘Bully’, has been parked up for a number of years and is in need of some TLC. To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, Ridgway Rentals have commissioned work to be started to restore ‘Bully’ back to their former glory. You never know perhaps she will be ready for King Charles first Jubilee!
